Conforms to AS 1530.2 naked flame "non ignitability" fire rating, tested by a NATA certified laboratory
Conforms to AS 1530.3 radiant heat “non ignitability" fire rating and was tested by a NATA certified laboratory.
Australian made with sponge rubber not “PE” (polyethylene) that is used in many other downpipe plugs on the market.
Will self extinguish when exposed to flames or embers.
Radiant heat may cause a PE plug to melt or distort, thereby breaking the seal. Radiant heat will not melt the BAL-29 plug

*BAL-29 downpipe plugs are compliant for use in BAL-29 (Bushfire Attack Level) areas as it they are non-combustible and will not ignite or contribute to the spread of fire according to AS 1530.2(naked flame test) & AS 1530.3 (radiant heat test). However, to meet the strict requirements of AS 3959:2018 which is the mandatory Australian Standard that specifies design and construction requirements for homes built in designated bushfire-prone zones, they must be installed as part of a compliant system.
