BAL-29 kW/m² sponge rubber self adhesive tape manufactured by Gardiner Australia.

BAL-29 kW/m² tape is a soft & conformable, so allows  tolerance variation of mismatched surfaces when sealing water air or dust.

BAL-29 kW/m² rubber tape can be used to seal gaps around windows & where wall & roofs join.

BAL-29 kW/m² rubber sponge is an excellent all-round sealing material as well so can be used in domestic construction, effective against drafts and insulation breaks. It is used in applications such as truck and transport bodies, caravans, RV trailers and campers, heating and air conditioning units, duct work, refrigeration and cool boxes, boats, fibre glass components and industrial packaging.

It must be noted that sites that require a BAL-29 rating, must be constructed with specific building materials (like doors, windows, and exterior walls) that are tough enough to handle 29 kW/m² of heat. The structure achieves this by passing strict, independent laboratory testing via either AS 1530.8.1 or AS 1530.8.2. This is the only approved testing method to prove that a building conforms to BAL-29 requirements. It is an independent fire test on the building materials, components and structures. It specifically tests all the  elements of construction for buildings exposed to simulated bushfire attack—Radiant heat and small ember attack. An individual component on itself cannot be BAL-29 but each component has to be  tough enough to conform to 29 kW/h2 in order to be used in a BAL-29 structure.
